Oh my gatos it's almost been a month since I last posted! I've been doing lots of fun things like camping on an island for 2 nights! Well we actually went to two different islands in the Boston Harbor. The first night we stayed at Lovells Island. It used to be a fort during the World Wars, but never saw action. Our campsite was right by the beach! Jake and I were brave and swam in the cold water, but it felt great! Also, the island is full of giant rabbits. Apparently they have no natural predator on the island so they grow to be huge - almost the size of a small dog. Unfortunately they were too quick for my camera, so I don't have any pictures.
The second night we stayed on Grape Island. This island was amazing! It has always been privately owned, so it's full of trees and underbrush. The trails are just mowed little paths. On this island, we were not so pleasantly greeted by two skunks and a fox. They didn't actually bother us, but it was surprising to see them!
Last week Stacy visited me in Boston! It was her first trip out here, and she came with her boyfriend, Elliot, who has been here several times. We went to cool places including the MFA and the Mapparium at the Christian Science Center. We also walked from MIT to Harvard, and that' was a little longer than we were expecting, but it was a cool walk.
Since then I've actually been a little sick. I had a little cold and that turned into an ear infection, but I'm ok now! I can't believe that I only have two weeks in Boston left! Then it's back to MPLS for about 10 days then to Wisconsin with Jake for a few days before classes start again. This has definitely been one of the best summers EVER! I've done so many fun things and visited so many cool places around New England. Dominique and I actually spent the afternoon wandering around the South End. That was cool, especially since we may end up going to school around there after graduation this Spring. CRAZY! GRADUATION. Oh boy. That's a big deal. At least I still have time before that happens. It's going to be another interesting and fun year.
And now back to the job/internship search....
